Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
Pro Runner is a run tracker for iOS. This policy explains what data the app works with, what stays on your device — which is all of your workout data — and what leaves it: anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
Your workouts stay with you
Everything Pro Runner records during a run — your GPS route, pace, heart rate, heart rate zones, elevation and calories — is stored on your iPhone. We have no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of our own, so there is no way for us to receive or access your workouts.
iCloud sync
If iCloud is enabled on your device, Pro Runner syncs your workouts between your devices through your private iCloud database, hosted on Apple's infrastructure and protected by your Apple Account. Only you can access this data — we cannot. You can turn syncing off at any time by disabling iCloud for Pro Runner in your device settings.
Location
Pro Runner uses your location only to track the route of your workout while it is in progress, with your explicit permission. Location data is recorded into the workout on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Heart rate data
When you connect an external heart rate monitor, its readings are used to display your heart rate and heart rate zone during the workout and in the statistics afterwards. Heart rate data stays within the workout records on your device.
Pro Runner does not provide any medical services. Heart rate data is shown for information only and cannot be used for diagnosing or treating. If you have concerns related to your health condition, please consult your doctor.
Apple Health
With your permission, Pro Runner uploads finished workouts to Apple Health so your runs count towards your activity. Access to Apple Health is controlled by iOS: you decide what the app may read and write, and you can revoke this permission at any time in the Health app. Health data is never sent to us.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features matter and where the app fails, Pro Runner collects anonymous usage statistics: application opens and updates, first launches, number and duration of sessions, in-app purchase events, device model, operating system version and region. This data cannot identify you and never includes your workouts, routes, location or heart rate.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or runs into an error, a technical report is sent so we can find and fix the problem. Crash reports contain information about the failure and the state of the app — never your workouts, routes, location or heart rate.
Third-party services
Usage statistics and crash reports are processed on our behalf by Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) under Google's own privacy policy; processing may take place in the United States. The service uses a random identifier created for your installation — we never attach your identity to it. We do not sell, share or disclose any data to anyone else, and no other third-party services receive anything from Pro Runner.
In-app purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive or store your payment details; we only learn that a purchase happened.
Your rights
Since we never receive your workout data, there is nothing for you to request access to or deletion of: deleting the app — and, if you use iCloud sync, its iCloud data — deletes your workouts. The anonymous events already sent cannot be traced back to you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. If you have any questions about our data practices, we are happy to help.
Changes to this policy
If Pro Runner gains features that change what data is handled, this policy will be updated before those features ship, with the revision date above. Significant changes will be called out in release notes.
